If MOB warnings became faster and better, lives would be saved.
We inaugurated the MOB Rescue project in the autumn of 2017 by asking ourselves: Would placing personal AIS transmitters in life jackets work? Would we get coverage?
Getting access to AIS data from the Norwegian Coastal Administration’s AIS receivers, which are operational along the entire Norwegian coast, helped. Then we were rolling. Today we have even broader AIS coverage – covered by marine traffic, and our own base stations.
Over a period of three years, an enormous effort has been put into testing and developing the system.
All company personnel performing near-water operations uses the MOB Rescue system. Our credo is that everyone shall return home safely.
